- EMERGENCY CLOSURESEn News & Events·December 15, 2020Dear Families, The weather forecast for this week looks to have some snow and maybe some ice. As a reminder, here is our closure protocol as laid out in the Parent Handbook. Please note that we do not always follow Molalla School District on closures and late openings. EMERGENCY CLOSURES The safety of MRA students is our primary concern in dangerous weather conditions. If in our opinion, it would be unsafe for the majority of our students and/or staff to travel the roads to and from school, we will close the school. Information about school closures can generally be found on local TV and radio stations and their accompanying websites, including KATU, KOIN, KGW, and KOPB, as well as online at www.flashalert.net. We encourage all families to sign up to receive Flash Alert notifications. (The media stations usually begin broadcasting such information after 6:00 a.m. and update every 15 minutes.) When possible MRA will also post closures or school delay information on the school’s website (an app once we have one in place) and Facebook page, and through the MRA Parent e-mail blast. In the event that a storm develops during the school day and it appears that travel conditions will deteriorate, children will be sent home early. Parents will be notified using the same avenues as listed above and by phone if possible. Radio stations may not necessarily carry news of early dismissal. It is the responsibility of the parent to see to it that a child is picked up in a timely manner in such circumstances. You may also reference www.flashalert.net for up to date emergency school closures. Please let me know if you have any questions Shelley Urben Executive Director002

- Google Classroom is Here!En South Clarkia·December 15, 2020First and foremost, I may be one of the first one to jump on this, so please be patient as this is rolled out. Full launch is not until April 1, but we all want to get info out to you ASAP so we can all start moving forward with the plan. Here we go! Email accounts for ALL students have been created. NONE of the K-4 accounts can actually send/receive email - they are ONLY used for accessing Google Classroom. There are some steps to follow and are listed below. There also a LOT of videos on YouTube as recently created as yesterday on how to login to Google Classroom, but here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hlqoJ08J5g Please keep in mind the email format is different per the instructions below. Everyone from 5th grade down uses the format first initial, last name (including any hyphens), last two numbers of the year they graduate from 8th grade, @mra-k8.com Just so we're on the same page: Class of 2024=4th graders Class of 2025=3rd graders Class of 2026=2nd graders Class of 2027=1st graders Class of 2028=KG Example: Donny Allen, 3rd grader= dallen25@mra-k8.com Remember, you need to type that whole address into Google to log in, you need the @mra-k8.com also. Passwords are all "mrastudent" and can (and should) be changed. HOWEVER, I am requiring that everyone share their passwords with me. This is a school-supported program and we must retain the passwords - plus forgetting it won't be an issue. Please click here and submit your child's password if you change it. Gmail is turned off for all of them currently. They can still access Google Classroom and Google Drive. Please try logging in over the next few days and let me know if you have questions, but remember, there won't be any official work until April 1st. Once we are all on I can start doing some doing some fun things. Take care, everyone.003
