Are you in need of another hour in your day on Monday afternoons before picking the children up from MRA? Then the Zumba for Kids class is just what you need to sign your children up for. This is a 1 hour class after school for 8 Mondays and the cost is only $5 per class. Sign up for one or as many as you would like. We are at risk of canceling the Zumba for Kids classes for Jan, Feb & March due to lack of registration. Please share this information with your children and encourage them to bring in their change for this important cause. (Remember, pennies are great - every little bit counts) The class that collects the most money at the end of the contest will earn an extra recess time with PE equipment of their choice. - Immunization Exclusion Day is ApproachingEn News & Events·December 15, 2020Immunization Exclusion Day will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020. The Clackamas County Health Department will mail Exclusion orders for the parent/guardian on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. When you receive the letter please read it, if your child has already received the missing shots fill in the information, sign, and date it and return the letter to the MRA Office. If you are unsure if your child has received the shots contact your health provider. Children without the proper Immunization documents will be excluded from school beginning Wednesday, February 19, 2020, and are unable to return to school until the documentation it turned into the MRA Office. - MRA BasketballEn Wild Woods·December 15, 2020Alders - Game of Bump Trillium - Bouncing into Targets MRA Basketball in PE Class Trillium: These students are continuing to practice their manipulative skills through bouncing, catching and dribbling balls of different sizes. They will be starting to learn their Trillium dance that they will be performing at the spring musical. Huckleberry: These students are continuing to practice their manipulative skills through bouncing, catching and dribbling skills. The Huckleberries are studying the human body systems in their classrooms and playing games that reinforce the concepts they are learning. They are reviewing many of the basic muscles and bones, where they are located on the body, and which exercises strengthen them. Clarkia- Cedars: These students are working on a "Review Unit" of basketball. The intent is to review the basic skills that were learned in depth last year. The skills presented are practiced individually, in pairs or with groups. This unit provides activities for students to practice and develop fundamental skills required for successful game play. The activities follow a high-activity, skill progression where the students can progress at their individual ability level. Each skill is presented with a variation and challenge. Clarkia: Ball Handling Drills: * (Challenge) Practice tricks Dribbling Drills: * (Challenge) Through the Legs- stationary or on the go Passing Drills: * (Challenge) Both partners have balls, time yourselves and beat your score Shooting Drills: * (Challenge) Shoot from different spots Games: Add 'Em Up, Keep Away, Dribble Tag Alders & Cedars: Dribbling Drills: * (Challenge) Yo-Yo Dribble- both hands or one Passing Drills: *(Challenge) Use two balls instead of one with partner, use defender Shooting: * (Challenge) Shoot from different spots, use different shots Games: Keep Away, 3 Pass, Bump, 3 Catch with Post, 1/2 Court Game (Choice) Annual Buddy Dance - 8th Grade Cedars & Trillium Buddies: The eighth grade Cedars and the Trillium students perform an annual dance together at the Spring Performance called the "Buddy Dance." Ms. Blythe and I are having fun teaching this dance we created for Buddies time every Wednesday. It's going to be a fantastic dance!000

- Seuss-A-Thon!En Mountain Meadow - Library·December 15, 2020Next week, we will celebrate Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss and his birthday on March 2nd. This movement was started in 1997 to bring awareness that all people deserve the right to learn to read. There are many fun events across the country as schools celebrate this day of reading. At MRA we would like to encourage your student and family to join our Seuss-A-Thon! Each student will be given a list of Dr. Seuss books to read over the next week. If they can read 10 or more Dr. Seuss books before next Wednesday, March 4th and return their signed paper to Mrs. Quinlan in the library, they will receive a small prize. Happy Reading!000
